Privacy Policy for Custody Cue

Custody Cue is a co-parenting and custody-scheduling app. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled.

Who this app is for

Custody Cue is used by adults - parents, step-parents, and other caregivers - to coordinate a shared calendar and parenting-time schedule for their children. It is not directed at children, and children do not have their own accounts or logins. Information about a child (their name and date of birth) is entered by an adult parent or guardian using the app.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name and email address, collected when you sign up (via email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in).
• Household information: which other adults you're linked to (co-parents, step-parents, or other invited viewers), and your role in that household.
• Children's information: a child's name and date of birth, as entered by a parent or guardian.
• Calendar and schedule data: events, notes, and parenting-time schedules you or another linked adult create.
• Device information: a push-notification token, so the app can deliver notifications to your device, and your device's timezone, so times display correctly for you.
• Support requests: if you contact support or request that someone be removed from a household, we collect what you write in that request.

How we use this information

We use this information solely to operate the app: to show your household's shared calendar and schedule to the people you've specifically invited into it, to send you notifications you've opted into, and to respond to support requests. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see your information

A household's children, calendar, and schedule are visible only to the specific adults invited into that household - nobody else. If you belong to more than one household (for example, co-parenting different children with different other parents), those households are kept fully separate from each other.

Third-party services we use

Custody Cue is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Messaging for push notifications), and uses Firebase's Trigger Email extension (backed by SendGrid) to send email notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments; we don't share your data with any other third party.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can request that your account, or another household member's access, be removed at any time from the app's Support tab, or by emailing us directly (below). We'll act on deletion requests as soon as reasonably possible.

Security

Access to household data is enforced server-side (not just in the app itself), so only people who've been specifically invited into a household can read or write its data.

Children's privacy

Custody Cue does not knowingly collect information directly from children, and is not directed at or marketed to children. Any information about a child is provided by a parent or legal guardian using the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
